The small sports car has a 1.5-litre horizontally opposed engine from Dr. Ernst Fuhrmann, and achieved an impressive top speed of 240km/h on the world’s race tracks – one of the reasons it was also called “the giant killer”. Apart from convincing on the track, the Porsche 550 Spyder also appeared in several movies – the most famous ones starring the superstar James Dean.
