After 50 years, the BMW 507, that the King of Rock’N’Roll himself used to drive during his time stationed in Germany with the US military, returns to life. The car was powered by a 3.2 L V8 engine and could reach a top speed of 200 km/h (125 mph) which at the time was definitely worthy of a King.

Elvis originally bought the car as a used vehicle in 1958 in his time as a GI in Germany. Before that it took part in several race and was driven by the racing driver Hans Struck, who won several hill-climb-races in the white 507 with the serial number “70079”. When Elvis bought it, he manly used it to drive to the Army base where he was stationed. Due to the exquisite design and white colour, the car drew a lot of attention – especially from female fans who regularly painted lip-stick messages on the chassis. For the Rockstar and King this might have been delightful, but for the soldier Elvis Presley it was to much. As a consequence he painted the car red in order to be noticed a little less. After returning to the United States in 1960, he sold the car to a New Yorker car dealer. Beyond that the path that led it back to Germany becomes more and more fuzzy.

Since BMW only produced 254 units of the 507 and due to it’s prominent owners, well preserved models sell for well over 2.5 Million Dollars.
